24.5" Purple Natural Touch Dutch Tulip Stem

A 24.5" purple Dutch tulip stem in Winward's natural touch construction, the real touch finish that gives a faux bloom the soft give and slight weight of a cut flower. The purple runs deepest at the base of the petals and lightens toward the edges the way it does on a real tulip, and the closed cup shape is the early-stage bloom rather than a fully opened one, which is what keeps it from looking like silk.

Tulips are the shortest-lived flower most people buy, which makes them the most worthwhile thing to own in faux. Three in a bud vase is the whole arrangement and it never needs water. Five to seven in a low cylinder reads as a market bunch for tabletop styling. A dozen down the length of a dining table, all at one height, is the version we set up most often in the shop. Pair them with olive branches or pussy willow for something looser, or keep them on their own for a cleaner, more graphic look.

Faux tulips look most convincing in odd numbers at slightly different heights, since real ones never stand at attention. Three in a narrow bud vase is our default. If you want the dining-table version, go all one height and all one color and let the repetition do the work.
