Montgomery John, a local Lafayette, Louisiana artist and the creative force behind DMJ Home Fragrance and Mood by DMJ. Art has been a part of Montgomery’s life since his early teens, when he began creating alongside his mother—experimenting with color, texture, and form as a way to express feeling and connection. That early foundation continues to shape his work today, informing a practice that is intuitive, layered, and deeply personal.
Working primarily in mixed media and oil pastels, Montgomery creates pieces that explore movement, balance, and emotion through texture and composition. Each artwork is created in his free time, outside of running his businesses, making every piece a true labor of passion and presence.
