120mm Yellow Glitter Glass Ornament by Jim Marvin

Christmas without a single red ornament. Try it once.

The 120mm Yellow Glitter Glass Ornament by Jim Marvin is a glass ball about 4.75 inches across. The yellow is clear and warm, closer to honey than to lemon, with glitter across the surface that keeps the color from reading flat. Yellow is the brightest thing you can hang on a green tree, and the glitter is what keeps it from looking like a plastic toy.

Yellow works the way a light works: it lifts everything around it. One or two in a section of green, gold, and bronze will make the whole section look brighter without adding another light bulb. It is also a good non-traditional palette anchor. Skip red entirely and build a tree in yellow, chartreuse, gold, and bone and it will read modern and warm. Off the tree, group a few in a glass compote for tabletop styling. Pair with brass and moss green.
