100mm Glitter Moss Green Glass Ball Ornament by Jim Marvin

The unglamorous one that makes the whole tree work.

The 100mm Glitter Moss Green Glass Ball Ornament by Jim Marvin is about 4 inches across. Hand-blown and polished to a high gloss, so the green reads warm and olive rather than grey, sitting somewhere between deep green and antique gold depending on what is lighting it. At 4 inches it is the workhorse size, big enough to register from across a room and small enough to buy in quantity.

This is the size you buy in multiples. Run them through the middle depth of a tree to build a base layer of color, then let larger finials and teardrops sit in front of them. Glass behaves differently than plastic on a tree: more weight, better light, and a finish that actually photographs. Outside of Christmas tree decorating they fill a footed bowl or a glass cloche neatly for tabletop styling. Moss green plays well with brass, walnut, bone, and dried florals.

How to Style It:

Buy these in sixes, not ones. A tree needs a repeating mid-size shape to hold everything else together, and this is it. Tuck them slightly deeper than the branch tips so the larger pieces stay in front.
